“I got a call from a scammer, so be careful because they are using a fake, unlisted number.”
“I received a scam call from a company called Coinbit asking for my information. I have no idea how they got my number. I keep blocking their number but they keep sending more texts. Stay alert, it's a total scam.”
“I got a call from someone claiming to be from Telstra. They said I was eligible for a free phone and modem upgrade as a loyal customer. However, to proceed, they asked me to send a copy of my photo ID, which I refused to do. It felt suspicious because they should have had my information already if I was a loyal customer. The caller seemed to be following a script, and I could hear other voices in the background saying the same things. I questioned why they were calling on Easter weekend, and the woman started to stumble over her words. Eventually, I told her that I was onto her scam because I hadn't been with Telstra since 1998.”
“I saw a missed call from this number. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences with this number. I won't be calling back:)”
“I got a text about a payment supposedly from 'BETRIGHT' and it asked me to click a link if I found the payment suspicious.”
“I got the same text message that others have mentioned here. It said: "Your one-time code is 670231. If this was not you, contact us on: (02)5761-0300." I almost fell for their scheme, but luckily, I checked their number here and also asked Coinbase live chat while I was talking to them on the phone. Thanks to everyone who shared similar experiences! They claim that someone tried to access your account from another country, assure you they will investigate, and ask you to create a wallet using a 12th recovery word given by them to move your coins from the exchange to your Coinbase wallet for added security instead of your hardware wallet, promising "100% insurance" by Coinbase in case of theft. It seemed quite convincing at first, but looking back, there were many red flags if you stay composed and think rationally.”
“I got a spam call pretending to be Google verification. It automatically sent texts from my number with a sketchy link in them. Watch out for this one!”
“I got a call from them, even though I'm on the Do Not Call list. They were offering solar rebates and installation services. The weird thing was they gave me a company name that doesn't even exist. When I tried calling them back, all I got was an answering machine saying "Energy Savers".”
“I got a call from this number. When I picked up, I was put on hold with music playing, followed by a recorded message from a woman with a British accent. The message said, “Thank you for calling back, our operators are all on other calls.” What struck me as odd was that I hadn't called them; they were the ones who called me!”
“I got a spam text from this number. It seems like it's coming from a group of numbers used by a marketing SMS service.”
